3 slices salt pork, cubed           1 large onion, diced
4 large potatoes, cubed            2 cups water
6 large common crackers         1 cup milk
2 cups canned creamed corn   1 teaspoon salt
Dash of paprika                         Chopped pimento
Brown salt pork (or bacon) in large skillet, then add onion and cook in the fat until tender. Add potatoes and water, cook until potatoes are done. Crumble crackers in a bowl and toss with milk. Saltine crackers may be used in place of the common crackers, which are a New England specialty. Adjust the amount to make the soup as thick as desired. Add the crackers and milk to the pan, then add corn, salt and paprika. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes and garnish with pimento. 4 servings.
